Irenaeus Wolff

Irenaeus Wolff is an experimental economist working as a Senior Research Associate at the Thurgau Institute of Economics at the University of Konstanz, with projects in both the "The Politics of Inequality" and the "Center for the Advanced Study of Collective Behaviour" Clusters of Excellence. He studied economics in Magdeburg and St. Petersburg, International Relations in Sydney, and obtained his doctoral degree under the supervision of Bettina Rockenbach in Erfurt.

His research interests are broad, ranging from social preferences and social norms over the role of expectations in decisions all the way to political topics such as voting and corruption. Current projects include the role consistent behaviour plays in being selected for promotions, the social codex governing peer-punishment, the determinants of when people will rely on AI systems in their decisions, and how trust is shaped by different forms of crises.
