Diese Veranstaltung ist Teil der Veranstaltungsreihe „Methods Hub Training“.
The training workshops offered by the Methods Hub are complementary to the existing methodological courses at the University of Konstanz, both in terms of content and format. This means that they are usually short and applied. Ideally, an application example is worked through step by step with the participants.
Research Ethics (Nicole Baur, one member of the University of Konstanz Ethics Committee)
Research Ethics is an increasingly important topic in the Social Sciences. In general, social scientists at the Cluster are bound by the DFG's "Guidelines for Safeguarding Good Research Practice". Individual disciplines also have subject-specific instructions in addition. More concretely, researchers at the Cluster are confronted with research ethics when they enter into cooperation with government agencies (for example, when they wish to obtain register data from vulnerable minorities or children) or when they wish to publish in specific scientific journals.
This workshop is intended to provide an overview of the various aspects of research ethics. It will be discussed in which cases a vote of the ethics committee at the University of Konstanz has to be (or should be) obtained. And: how to obtain the opinion of the ethics committee, which documents are required and what the time frame is.
Speakers are Dr. Nicole Baur, responsible for Research Ethics at the University of Konstanz and a member of the Ethics Committee of the University of Konstanz (N.N.).
