Diese Veranstaltung ist Teil der Veranstaltungsreihe „Methods Hub Training“.

The training workshops offered by the Methods Hub are complementary to the existing methodological courses at the University of Konstanz, both in terms of content and format. This means that they are usually short and applied. Ideally, an application example is worked through step by step with the participants.

New Data Repository at the Cluster (Dr. Jonas Recker)

Sharing the results of our data collection efforts stimulates not only research but also enhances the visibility of our researchers. Wherever possible, researchers at the Cluster are encouraged to make their research Open Access and follow the FAIR principles; that is, data should be Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.

To assist our researchers with these tasks, the Cluster cooperates with the data repository of GESIS. SowiDataNet|datorium is a research data repository for social sciences and economics that enables researchers to easily and securely document, publish, and share (quantitative) primary and secondary data. The repository is geared to the scientific community's needs: a comprehensive metadata schema provides an opportunity to describe the research data in detail, which is the prerequisite for effective reuse. With the publication in SowiDataNet|datorium, research data become citable because they are given a persistent identifier, namely a "Digital Object Identifier (DOI)". A two-stage review process also guarantees a quality and technical quality check of the data.

Dr. Jonas Recker will give this introduction to our local data repository. At GESIS, he is working at the Data Archive for the Social Sciences.
