This event is part of an event series „Early Career Training “.
Writing grant proposals has become an important part of academic work, be it to acquire additional funding to carry out a specific research project, to fund one’s own position, or to build your own independent research group. However, while one can improve his/her academic writing skills by closely examining excellent published research and receiving reviewer feedback, this is a lot more difficult in the case of grant proposal writing where funding organizations provide less feedback and best practices are not readily available. So how to go about writing successful grant proposals? To address this question, we will bring together discussants that have long-standing experience in successfully writing grant proposals themselves, forming part of selection committees and supporting researcher’s in obtaining third-party funding. The participants will share and discuss their insights on the things all successful grant proposals have in common, on what to consider when formulating a work program based on a project idea, on which pitfalls to avoid, and on how to match your proposal to a specific funding program.
The event will take place in a hybrid-format. A Zoom-link will be sent to all Cluster members shortly before the event. In Y213, there will be space for a limited number of attendees. 3G rules apply.
