Many businesses have experienced significant revenue losses due to constraints and bans imposed on public life. How does the populace at large assess government aid for businesses hit by the crisis? In what cases are these government measures perceived as sensible and fair? What are the effects on this perception of sensibility and fairness of core criteria such as: the size of businesses, their economic success pre-crisis, the kind (loans or subsidies) and the amount of government support, the way costs of these measures are offset (tax raises, public debt)?
Another aspect of our investigation is how people weigh fairness and efficacy of government measures against each other, and how these two aspects relate to public opinion thereof.
