This event is part of an event series „Early Career Training“.
Everyone knows that having a good network is important. But how do you build such a (lasting) network in academia? And what kind of networks are useful? We have invited several PIs to share their experiences with us and to discuss strategies to building a successful network. During the roundtable we will address topics such as:
- Advantages/disadvantages of horizontal and vertical networking
- Networking within the home institution and outside
- How to use social media/digital platforms (e.g. Twitter, Academia.edu, ResearchGate, LinkedIn) for networking purposes
- How to best use conferences and workshops to build a sustainable network
- Invited talks and research stays as an opportunity for network expansion
- Involvement/membership in professional societies and their early career groups as well as in women networks
The event will take place in Y213 and on Zoom. A Zoom-link will be sent to all Cluster members shortly before the event.
