Unravelling the interaction between group and individual problem-solving
This project aims to combine theory and experiment to reveal how individual biases and problem-solving capacity shape group bias and problem-solving, and how being in the group can affect individuals’ behaviour in the context of perceptual information processing. In addition, the project will address how environmental fluctuation, the nature of the problem, and confidence communication mediate the relationship between individuals’ behaviour and the group’s emergent behaviour and affect individuals’ and group’s problem-solving capacity and bias.
