Ori Harel, PhD is an educational-psychologist and mindful-yoga teacher, specialized in mental health and well-being of the academic community. Having worked as a researcher and with researchers, Ori now gives international workshops for academics. Her PhD focused on therapeutic factors and change processes in group counseling, which she now applies to increase mental resilience and happiness despite of pandemic challenges.
Workshop:
This program is the continuation of the "Mental Health Awareness Series (Workshop): Improving academic performance in pandemic distress" in March 2021, aiming to cultivate the practices, methods and ideas that were taught. Even though life is getting brighter, the impact of the last month have been tremendous on academic performance and mental well-being. This continuous workshop will give you the opportunity to cultivate methods and techniques to improve your academic performance. Newcomers are more than welcome to join- there is no need to have participated in earlier workshops!
Structure:
The session will start with a short practice (~15 min.) of mindfulness, followed by an open discussion where participants are encouraged to share their own experiences with cultivating mindfulness and positive-psychology practices, and their current struggles in their academic settings.
We'll explore academic life challenges such as:
- Time management
- Stress and anxiety
- Attention
- Reflective communication
- Conflict resolutions
- Self doubts and imposter syndrome
