Data Science – Top or Flop?

Data analysis, modeling and data science have exerted a major influence on the planning and strategic decisions in companies and organizations. The amount of available data is growing exponentially and has the potential to become one of the most valuable resources of our time. But how can we tap into this 21-st century gold?

This all-day workshop, conducted by IBM staff on Wednesday, June 12, 1919, will provide a theoretical introduction to the methods of data science. You will also gain insights into current industrial projects, current trends, possible sources of error, misinterpretations and pitfalls. Much of the workshop is about working with data science tools. In the process, you will generate models, and evaluate and examine them with regard to their significance.

The workshop is free of charge and lasts from 9:00 to about 15:00. Participants work on their own computer. The installation software is provided in advance by IBM. The space is limited, and registration is required. Space allocation takes place after receipt of registration and is on a first come first serve basis. Please register with Mrs. Christine Agorastos (christine.agorastos@uni-konstanz.de) with name and email address.
